This is cool , I have grown individual elms before from root cuttings , this fella however is from an entire root mass chopped in half for a repot . Turned upside down , planted and let grow .
I cant take credit for this tree except for the fact that i own it haha .
But given the time of year it may inspire someone else to give it a go , I think it looks pretty cool .

I'm trying that technique too. I read about it in Adam Lavigne's excellent blog

It's only been a few weeks so I'm waiting to see if anything pops up. :fc:

Nice work. I like the contrast between the complicated base and the slender, lightly foliaged trunks. The highest trunk is a bit dense compared to the rest - you might like to get ruthless and chop out about half of the branchlets up there so it matches the rest.

Please keep posting it as it develops.

Gavin

Would like to see yours mate and how it is progressing please share with us ... we are very visual people.
Yes Gavin thanks for the advice and quotes people .
I was thinking that the other day ... maybe a few could be removed ... would it take from the age perception being the largest tree should be the oldest ?
