Created this pot last December, was the second attempt. My first container ripped itself apart during the drying period before firing, lessons learnt. The oxide used post firing didn't really take in all places either, but quite like the result, besides nature isn't perfect. The hunt was then on for the tree.

Found this lovely little literati at Bonsai Sensation, Tien and the team really do an excellent job on the roots The tree was ready for a repot, the buds starting to open, I decided it was time to repot. With the work done, there were no big roots, pot was full of fibrous roots so moving to the pot should not be too stressful on the tree, only removed just over a third.

Quite happy with result. Once the tree settles will wire and give a little shape, for now have simply trimmed a couple of the unwanted buds / branches.

Do like this..Have a couple of pots similar in design from one of our professional potters who is a member here..That said I do like the way you have set the pine.
Keep it up..Sometimes I do think of having a go and getting a small kiln but that passes as I can see the time it takes for a great pot and the failures associated getting the pot to the finished item.
I have a 'silky oak in one of mine and although purchase last year I'm still looking at what it is going to be a permanent home for the second.

Dibly_w, light source is the downlighting in the lounge, without flash on mobile. I find the flash always bleaches the image, probably just me.

Steve, I bought a slab of clay last year some time, mess around when bored. Can take me the better part of a day to make a pot and with the shape needed to let things harden a bit before building the walls. Managed to get the pot fired at a commercial studio, didn't cost much. Still have half a slab of clay in the cupboard, might do something else one day.
