Hard to tell from the photo but I would say agonis flexuosa nana. Not callistemon.

Now there's a South African telling a Victorian about Aussie natives. How cool is that
BTW:
Looks like a peppermint willow to me.
is the common name for
agonis flexuosa nana.

Lol. How impressed would you be if I told you I have one as a bonsai?

Correct about the species well done and thank you. I see these around just always thought they were different type of cal.
Yes I'd be very curious to see yours and hear your care instructions. Long term have you managed to reduce leaf size?

It is not currently at my home, so this is a bit of a rubbish photo as it's enlarged from a photo of my en. Still in a training pot and still by immature as a bonsai. I could take a better photo, but it' serially not much to look at. Promise.

...oh and there is a tree growing in a croc in the foreground...keep that sort of shenanigans up and the bonsai police will be around to your place.

I'd need a better photo of the leaf but I'd say it's an agonis flexuosa ( Willow myrtle ) part of the Myrtacea family
