A few years ago i took a bougainvillea from my nanas place and began to bonsai it, this was a small cutting around the size of a pencil at the time that i stuck in the front garden

fast forward to now and i dug it up this afternoon cut it back hard and tried to save as many roots as possible but most of them were lost being so fragile so i am hoping it still recovers, i think it will drop its leaves then hopefully bounce back.
i forget to get pictures of it before i finished unfortunately but it was just lots of long thin branches

only photo i got aha
