Went up to see the folks in Ballarat and dropped into a Nursery at Warrenhiep.
Pottered around for a while..picked up a tree here and there and was going to get a couple of Yew or Larch.
These they had but rather leggy and are 'filed away for perhaps my next trip.
Settled on a pair of Cryptomeria Japonica Tansu.
Searched AB but found 'NO' Tansu..
These are my starters.
Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
At this stage I'm looking at (2) together with one elevated in the pot above the other.
Steve.

Well this was a disaster.
One survivor out of the pair.
Both got potted up but this one just dried up and died
Well that what I thought as it has been in a dead stare since I put it under the bench.
Today I was cleaning up it's living mate and grabbed it out and just maybe it's coming back from the brink.
Time and a bit of luck I followed dead looking branches and stripped back every thing.
Maybe it will go forward or maybe not..Every branch was shriveled up and dead looking when it went away so a bonus re-birth may begin.
Anyway we will see but not holding out for much..
Steve.

Where there's life, there's hope...
Good luck with it.

When did you pot it up? Looks like it may have been too late in the year. I do my conifers in the winter holidays.

I have little to no experience with Japanese cedar. The one tree I had carked it - I applied wire and it didn't like it and slowly browned away to death.
