The 2016 Taikan-Ten Sales Area.

I downloaded these photos from Elenore’s camera of the sales area last night, and didn’t realise she had these as I was too busy looking for pots, tools, etc in the dying hours of the exhibition. This is why you need more than one day at these exhibitions.
These photos will give you some idea of what it all looks like, and some prices.
The large Japanese maple in the first photo was reportedly sold for $US55,000, but when talking to Bjorn about it he quoted $35,000 to $40,000 - whatever it was, it sure did cost a bit. I wonder if any Australian collectors would pay that sort of money. If it was sold for $US35,000 thats around $AUD47,250 on today’s market.
The exchange rate for Aust dollars to Yen is not good, so if you can read the labels, 10,000 yen = around $120 Aust dollars.
Enjoy these photos.
