Hey yesterday I bought my first Bonsai from Bunnings but it didn't have a tag so I've been trying to identify the tree on my own but I'm pretty clueless. I know that it's an evergreen but beyond that I have no idea.

I'll have a guess!
Azalea? I have seen them at Bunnings in bonsai pots & the leaves look like my Azalea Indica hybrid.

AZALEA...Looks healthy...keep moist but not wet and 'don't' expose the roots for a few seasons.
Plenty of pruning/feeding info available here.
"Enjoy".
Steve.

Azalea Satome (Rhododendron).
They thrive in morning sun and best to keep in the shade or light shade in the afternoon. They take quite a bit of time to thicken up, I have some that are around 20 years old and they are 2cm at their thickest point. When you cut a branch, they do throw out new shoots like crazy.
Get some Azalea fertilizer and follow the instructions on the label as regular fertilizer will be too strong.
