This is a Western Australian native Banksia. Banksia telimatia, it has just started to show some flower buds, which I am pleased about.

That is exciting. Please post this tree again when the flowers develop.

Last night was the first meeting of the year for BS of WA. I put up a display of the tree plus a water pool stone and a bronze kingfisher
. As it is a swamp Banksia. The flower bud has also grown twice its first size in 8 days.

Hi Pup. Amazing tree, how big will the flower end up being and do you selectively prune other ones off? or just let them go for it

Cheers

Hi Max the flower on this should be about another two thirds, no I will let the others show first then selectively prune them out. This is the first time of flowing so I will have to watch and learn.
As I have kept this pruned for shape more than anything, I did not expect flowers at all.
