Juniper Chinesis Pyramidalis

Another one of my early purchases. This one was just an ordinary plant from the nursery which I then pruned (radical haircut?).It didn't take long to start growing new shoots and is recovering well. I decided to push it hard and started wiring and shaping it a bit. The trunk was a bit difficult to bend, but I'm doing it gradually, letting it recover and adapt to the new shape for a couple of weeks before bending further. Seems to have worked so far.
I'll add more as the progression continues. :fc:

This looks like a variety I tried many years ago. It just kept wanting to grow as the original pyramid shape - whatever I tried it would just grow up in a pyramid. Also quite prickly. After trying, and failing, for a few years I grafted shimpaku onto the trunks (which were a bit bigger than this one)
Good luck with yours. I'd like to see how you get on with it.
