Hi guys I'm now the new proud owner of this creep mrytle purchased from Adam, viewtopic.php?f=102&t=23691
really nice guy with some very nice trees to sell. Also scored my first 2 Japanese pots.
Turns out it's original owner was named Antonio so it was only fitting that another Antonio would now own it

Come winter I will work the roots and give it some fresh potting mix as suggested by Adam and a hard prune.

It really needs some carving done to it but I feel that's way over my head and I don't wanna stuff it. Does any know or recommend someone or somewhere i can pay to have it done?

I can't help you with who can help you, but I do know that the crepe myrtle wood is very very hard, so hopefully whoever does it has very sharp implements!

Thanks melb might need to get one of those chain saw artists to do it, only people I could find when running a search through Google. They carve stuff out of wood with a chainsaw, but would probably turn my living tree into a wooden sculpture

Clubs can help. I know the Canberra club runs carving workshops, hopefully a local club will be doing something similar.

Talk to Alpine Art (Ian). He'ss pretty handy with the die grinder. Maybe next time he's down in Melbourne he might have time to make some sawdust for you? Or take the tree fro a drive up to Myrtleford some time

Agree....a mini arbortech https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b4ojHGSEVw or similar would probably be absolute minimum to work on that....definitely need to take it to a carving specialist, or a workshop where the demonstrator can do the dangerous part....and perhaps if you have a dremel you could finish it off...
