Help identifying this plant...

Hello all I need help to identify this shrub in anticipation of a successful air-layer I have set, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :tu2:

I don't recognise those leaves immediately but you're not giving us a lot to go on mate. Can you tell us whether it is a tree or shrub and approximate size. A photo of the whole plant and one of the bark can give valuable clues. It is flowering which is great for ID but I can't see the flowers very well. Is it possible to get a close up of them? While I'm asking, there is no size reference in the photo so I can't tell if those leaves are 1cm long or 20 cm long.
You can see that there's more to ID plants than just the leaves.

Leaves are similar but flowers don't look right to me.
Note that Hundred21 is in Malta so it is possible that this may be a tree we don't know over here. :fc: we can help when new pictures come.

Indian Hawthorn = Raphiolepsis indica.
As mentioned above the flowers don't look right. I did find one source that quotes white or green petals but raphiolepsis has 5 petals. The ones visible in the pictures appear to have 6 petals. That's why a better picture of flowers is desirable for ID.

Hey guys thanks for all your input and it looks likely to be as " no idea :worship: " suggests being rhamnus alaternus this being a mediterranean species which fits.. Will do my research and confirm though..Cheers :tu2:

looking at other images - the berries could make this plant very interesting as bonsai
