Fig yellow dots on leaf

Hi All,

AS the subject says I have a fig (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23577&hilit=+fig+repot ) that has recently started getting small yellowish dots around the edges of the leaves. I initially took a few out but today more leaves have it now. One or two smaller leaves dried up too. I suspect this is fungal as i read somewhere. What can I do in such instance? What to use?

I will post picture of a leaf tomorrow hopefully.

Thanks

Hello Bonsaeen,

I believe this to be natural with some species seen on older leaves.
Your plant is very healthy.
I cannot explain botanically, but my F. macrophylla has them too, the spots do not grow or cause any detrimental effect to the leaf's health.

Maybe a Ficus expert can explain what they are? Maybe a type of lenticel?

Kevin

Your Ficus is healthy. Completely normal on some Ficus leaves its called lithocysts. Its part of the growth on particular Ficus.
