I purchased this tiny little thing from Tess @ Bonsai Northside in the first week of August, and put it in the big pot a couple of week later.
It's literally doubled in size! When I bought it, it seriously had not leaves, not a single one, and none of the "new" green brances. It took about 4 weeks before anything happne,d and I was getting worried. But then one morning I saw a few tiny leaves, and it just took of like a rocket!!
I purchased it with the hopes of one day in (many I'd say) years giving it to my mum as a beautiful bonsai, as her favourite plant is Wisteria =)

you should ground grow it. (but just make sure that it doesn't take of and get everything else!)

Get it in the ground, you need to thicken up that trunk mate its too small to pot up yet. One day this vine will make a beautiful bonsai. We will all look forward to its progress. Keep us posted.

Will you get upset if i tell you that i dont think this will EVER flower? It's not to do with age either.

why would that be the case and how can you tell that from a picture????????????????

Because it looks to be a dwarf wisteria, which does not flower.

For the record, wisteria in the ground unprepared is not a good option, they like to take over. A field I collect in has 5 wisteria the nursery man planted, and in 7 years there is no way he will get rid of besides setting it alight. A bulldozer didnt even make a dent in it. However, look out for older specimens in gardens and ask.

well thats fair enough, nathan should be able to say whether or not its dwarf or not.

but i do agree with the idea of looking for older specimens. but i dont see tess selling a wisteria that wouldnt flower either. she is generally very good and if it was a dwarf then she would of told nathan that.

To be honest, I didn't know it wouldn't flower. I'm fairly certain it is a dwarf version, but not aware of the no flowers =/
A bit sad, but I'm sure it will still make a good tree one day!

There are dwarf species that flower too, this just reminds me of one i seen previously that Clinton Nesci told me would NEVER flower due to the sport. I hope yours flowers, but with smaller leaves, it will make a great specimen anyway. Good luck!
