[OUT DATED] Monster Japanese Black Pine

Hi All
This is for sale and all offers will be considered. Don't be shy in making an offer on this tree if you are interested as I have no real idea of the price in the market place for a tree this size. I haven't seen too many this big in Australia and it will be a massive challenge for someone keen enough. The tree is a Japanese Black Pine and is a good 8ft tall. Lots of carving to be done on this as one side has died off but as you can see lots of movement in the trunk and the trunk base is quite large. If someone is patient enough they could attempt to airlayer the top off. The main tree would be somewhere in the lower two or three branches. This tree could also be used in a landscape for a Japanese garden if interested. The tree is much too heavy to move around in its current state and would need 2 or 3 strong men to move it. I will consider all offers. Interstaters will need to consider shipping if they can organise it and I am actually trying to source a contact for a tree shipper but as you would expect this would be very expensive to ship due to size and weight.

If you have any questions then please ask me.

Thanks
David

Gday David,

I would love to use it for landscaping purposes to use in my J. Garden. I have no idea on what to offer though? I will see what the others think!

Can't be sure of when it was last repot but it has been over 5 years. I just treat it like every other tree. It needs a lot of work for someone keen enough.

Very nice landscape material. How long ago did the side die off did you work out why it died? It looks very healthy at the moment good time to start work on it.

hi dave sure is impressive. this could be fantastic if someone is willing to take on the work and risk involved to bring it back to a bonsai state. as a landscape proposition it would be beautiful in any garden. can you divulge some history on this as in prior custodian's?, original grower? how old is the tree? :D

Sure Tony, previous owner was nurseryman named Alan Rapper if anyone remembers that name. He passed on and his son had this tree and pretty much it had been left growing. BNW was involved in looking after the tree for some time. Not sure on age of tree but you can probably have a good guess. If I were going to hold onto it I would try and create something using the lower branches of the tree.

I can just see this tree hanging off the top of the cliffs above my dry lake.. maybe one day.

I can also see a tree with just that first branch, 60deg lean to the initial trunk line and bring the branch right down over the top

Anyone want to buy it for me
