I dug this out of a friends garden while doing some weeding for her, (Just accidently dug it up of course) we thought it was a nectarine? but I begin to think it might be a plum... might be too early to tell too...

Paddles,
There is defenitly a Rocking Horse in that line up, I'm sure of that!

I think you are right. My bet is on the plum. Nectarines and peaches have normally elongated and more serrated leaves.
The leaves in your photo's are more rounded and have more rounded edges. Also the flowers are tiny. Again a plumb traite.

A lot of nectarines and peaches are grafted onto a stock called Myrobalan (Prunus cerasifera) which is a plum stock. So it could be that you have that.

Anyway, I'm sure you will be able to make something out of it

Hope this helps

Cheers

Prunus Cerasifera, i had an apricot that was neglected and the plum took over. Looks same flower as yours, but i still had the lable in a draw which said it was grafted to a P/C. Will make a wonderful bonsai specially when in flower. I have one in progress now. Dont expectto get fruit from this one, mine has never had any. Cheers! ;)
