Inherited this plant that had a bit of die back last year but is now quite healthy. It looks like it is warming up to flower profusely. I have no idea what it is or whether it would be good bonsai material.

Any help with ID appreciated.

It looks like PIERIS japonica 'Temple Bells'.

Pieris Japonica is a member of the Ericaceae and as such should be treated similarly to Azalea Spp. They are frost resistant but drought tender. The variety Christmas Bells is a good subject for bonsai. It should shoot back well on old wood.
