Afternoon everyone,
Here are a couple of Kunzea ericoides I collected a while back. I had these mallee roots lying around and thought it's about time I used them. Still got some wiring to do but happy so far.

That's awesome Josh!

Does the mallee root have to be treated at all before planting (wood hardener, fibreglass or some other type of lining etc)? Or is it just a given that it has a limited life span?

Either way it looks great.

Cheers,
Pearcy.

I did think about sealing it but mallee root is about as hard as they come so I think by the time it rots it'll be time for a new pot anyway.

Thanks for the info.

To me the top tree looks as if a bird dropped a seed up high in its nest, now the tree is growing to reach for the light.

Now that's a damn fine idea... Didn't have a clue what to do with my mallees.

Good beginning.

I had a piece of mallee in a fish tank for ten years. I used it for brackish water fish. In 1990 I put a shimpaku juniper Phoenix graft, wrap around. It is still there, has never been treated,
I also use smaller pieces for accent planting moss looks good with natives.

Mrs pup and I have used it as our logo on our calling card.

Cheers pup
