Apricot early flowering

Hey folks, with the recent move to Canberra my trees have been adjusting in various ways and my apricot has just come into flower, anybody have any ideas why this might be?
We did have a cold snap about a month ago and then it warmed up slightly but it's been consistently cold for the last couple
of weeks.
I'm not complaining, just a little confused

Hi Kez,
This is semi-normal. There will some spot flowering on a few trees during Autumn, its just part of living where you get "real" seasons.

I had a similar thing with my plum when we moved to Adelaide. It has since settled down. No harm.

Do you mean Prunus mume or P armeniacum? Mume is in bud now and will open in June but it's way too early for armeniacum.

Prunus Mume Mike,
In Wollongong last year it flowered around the end of June, it surprised me the it flowered this early here but it is significantly colder.
Thinking back I thought it was later that it flowered last year but I'm relieved to see that wasn't the case
