My little Camellia is just as excited as me for such a big week of Bonsai coming up*.
Trees DO have emotions and even though I have been lazy and neglected to do the styling I should have she has put on a show.
*Koji Hiramatsu in town for BBTH and The School Of Bonsai as well as other events.

Hi no idea,
No it is from a root graft -Technique where you dig up some interesting old roots from an old garden tree and graft a variety that is good for bonsai on that.
That idea was told to me by Len Webber many years ago and I have done it quite a bit with varying success.
If you can find interesting gnarly roots it can be a speedy result.
Good luck
