Saw that one. That seller sells a bunch of bare rooted stuff every year on eBay.

I've had some nice trees from him last year, but this is the first time I've seen him actually auction a tree, usually they're at Buy It Now prices...

Yeah, I'd prefer a straight up asking price. I've seen him auction before, but doesn't usually do it for all the stock

What do you think about the tree?
I thought it might have been a good buy at $80...not so much at $260
Mind you, the people bidding seem to have a fair bit of experience, so what do I know?

I'd love it but not knowing anything about that sort of tree i wouldn't start with that one at that price I'd start a little cheaper if I were going to buy one!

Daleys sell them, both grafted and cuttings
https://www.daleysfruit.com.au/search.p ... blood+plum
of course, you'd then have to wait til they're available, and then ground grow it for 6 years.

The tree looks nice

I thought I should search for the exact name on daleys... still "notify me when available" and definitely not for my climate, whereas the ones I posted before are all suitable for sub tropics...

Yes, it looks like a fair tree, probably need to be severly trunk chopped to add some movement to the trunk....think the apex might be a bit to thick for broom style?

I'm awaiting a prunus shirotae from Daleys. Hopefully they'll pick one with a nice graft. Apparently they're not good for bonsai but I shall attempt anyway

Pay $200 more to save 6 years time
Is it worth it?

I've bought quite a bit of starter stock from them in the last couple of years....I like the fact they give you pretty concise information on climate and care.
