I have been working on this crab apple for 6 years now. It was a collected tree and i wanted it for the stump (of course) It has a way to go but because we flower much later than the rest of Aust i am hoping it will brighten a few peoples day. Cheers to all.

I asm very impresssed that you would give us the favour of showing the tree. Very nice but I woukld be thinking about the balance between growth and display at the moment

I have heaps of trees in the shade house that haven't even leafed out yet. Not sure if it is my harsh treatment or micro climate

Beautiful flowers Bodi
In my humble opinion I would maybe a bit of a tilt the tree a lil to the left and get the top a lil to the right, just a thought.
Thanks for sharing.

because it was a collected tree it didnt come with a tag so the closest i have been able to deduce is..Malus Geneva.. the fruit is a deep red/purple and very profuse. There are literally hundreds and if someone recognises it as something else i would love to know.

Yes they are very nice

Will you let it go to fruit? I have trouble removing such things that look so good to get extra growth.

Good morning Bretts. Yes, i will remove the fruits, but dont want to. They look so good on. they are miniature plum size and dark purple and shiny and...you understand. For the progression of the tree and its growth and vigor they will be removed. That is the discipline we Bonsai Artists must adhere to.
p.s. I hope you will input into the Literati post.

Absolutly beautiful, Bodhi. Well done. Yeh why not let it flower, after all the hard work you put in. Why not reap the beauty of ists flowers.

You never know what tomorrow brings. This is exactly what i would do. These trees will out last us, and if we dare to see them flower who cares.

They will keep growing even if they are delayed, let someone else do the worrying. Thanks for sharing, its made my day. Petra!
