I have always been a little timid about layering pines, knowing that it will take longer and I would need good roots for survival.the new root system is not spectacular but it might make it

				I took into account strong root growth in spring, layer was applied before last years spring burst. (Exactly 12 months)

Not quite, missing about a quarter of the circumference
