My thanks too for posting. Interesting exhibition. There are many examples of very beautiful penjing to be found on the Internet, but I can't say I am in admiration of all the shohin penjing shown here. Hate the little trees bulging out of pots, untidy branching that doesn't give the impression of natural 'wild' growth, etc. etc. At the bottom of the page there is a link to American shohin that are beautiful. All of this just in my personal opinion, of course!
Looking forward to the bigger trees... if any.

Lisa

Hi There

Part 2 has just turned up.

Good to see a bit of girl power as well at the exhibition.

Thanks again, Jdceng. And thanks to Bill Valavanic too!
Now THOSE DEMO TREES REALLY SHOW THE BEST OF PENJING STYLING! And also of bonsai - rightly or wrongly, I rather think of Bill V.'s tree as bonsai. And it's beautiful too! -- Having the demonstrators' names on a scroll nearby was a great idea. Wish we had been given some more demonstrators' names. -- Loved the originality of many trees, e.g. Robert Stevens' with the bending branches at the top. Fantastic groups too!
Altogether very rewarding collection of photos.
