my favourite bougie has been having alot of issues this year. last year some of the leafs turned yellow so when i went to the garden store i asked the lady and she said it needs fertiliser. but this year its really sick all new growth is yellow and most buds havent even pushed out. i bought a ph tester thinking the ph in the soil was too highand i had an iron deffiency but i got a reading of 5. So im stumped can someone give me some advice i dont want this tree to die its very special.

Shes flowering profusely, which probably isn't a bad sign. It could be an iron deficiency...

I haven't got a bougie but I'm guessing they would be gross feeders are they. Last spring wasn't that long ago. Does it get plent of food. Liquid or other?

ive been using pellitised chicken manure in tea bags as i didnt want to clog my mix. with occasional nitrosol n seasol. but wen it got really bad i went out to buy some troforte M n added some volcanic rock dust to get some trace elements in there but idk how long it takes to work. i also have iron sulphate but i want to find out if it is an iron defiency before i add it in. water once a day sometimes every 2 depending on weather.

Could be the chook poo, it may be to alkali for the bougie.
Just a thought anyway as we have alkaline soil here and chook poo is a big no no.
