Mallee ( Kabudachi )

This Melaleuca rhaphiophylla was given to a friend. It came back after the main trunk had died. As it is described as a tree and or scrub, this one was left to see what would happen. After 18 months it started shooting. The main trunk however just rotted. So we were left with sucker's and a stump.
I put it in a pot to get some health and more growth. I always thought of a slab. Then last year a guy was selling pots, at the club, this man made slab cost me $10-00.
This is the transition, using muck ( muck pulverised cow manure and clay mixed together to form a putty like substance ) I built a wall around the slab.
So I can create an open swamp feel where weeds as well as Melaleuca's grow. Then placing moss on the top pressing into the muck, which will help keep it green and not let it go dormant. A little bit of sumi ink mixed with lime sulphur to simulate a fire. This is the result the first pics are of my assessing the slab, to see where the tree needed to go, and whether it would suit. When I say your method, what happens now is it is treated like a standard pot. The follow up is next page.

in the late 80-early 90. The reason for the exclamation is, that a lot of pots that came out of Japan. In those years were made in either Korea or China.
