When we go down south to visit our Son and his family we usually go to Albany and have a wander along the cliffs.
I always wonder how the Bloody hell these survive it is as windy as hell salt laden winds blowing up from the southern ocean.
They do though and give us such wonderful shapes ( styles ) to emulate. These are my favorite species Melaleuca's not sure which one's but I have some enquiry's going on at the moment

Pup, they are our "junipers". I hope you can get permission to collect there, I would be down in a flash to collect one with you.

Nice material allright! They remind me of an area on the central Queensland coast at Yeppoon. I was up there a month or so ago. Growing all amongst the rocks on the foreshore was these amazing Green island figs. They look like they have been there 1000 years! I will attach a pic of them, they are very similar to the trees sown in this pic of Pups. On another note though, i have heard the Pemphis acidula grow near Darwin, has anybody else heard of this? How good would that be! Also, prior to my going up to Yeppoon, i requested a permit to collect Green Island Figs in that area. I got a reply from the EPA stating that i could collect them only if they were on privately owned land and that i had permission from the landowner blah blah blah. In a nut shell, i couldnt get permission to collect them.

Somebody remind me just before christmas to get photos of some beautiful banksia serrata's! I'm going somewhere after christmas where there are hundreds of them....all fatties and less than a metre high. They are amazing! I will take photos if i remember

Its odd, that anywhere outside WA we cant touch these things. We really need to set up a nation wide organization so we can work at getting permission to collect in more places.

G, day guys as I have said before I have a scientific licence to dig .
That is why I am after the specific name.
Other wise no it is in a National Park. I am not sure they will allow even then as they seem to be putting more and more restrictions on.
Its Christmas though they might be in a good mood Pup

Yeham but in SA for example there is no way to get the same sort of licence. The only way is to get a tree clearing permit, at 450$ odd.
