Bought this today for a few bucks and the seller thought it was a Mel of some sort.
After seeing some of the trees in he Aussie Day comp I’ve become seriously inspired to have a crack at some locals.
I’m pretty new to the natives and was hoping someone could id it for me and whether it’s suitable for bonsai.
Cheers in advance,

On the east coast I would guess Mel linariifolia but without flowers I can't be positive. Mel ericifolia is another possibility.
M. linariifolia is good for bonsai. It responds well to pruning, tolerates root pruning in summer and grows quite quick :tu: M. ericifolia is just as good.
Even if it is another Mel it is very likely to do well as bonsai.
