Thanks for sharing, Watto. It's always exciting to see pics of the Kokufu ten and I love most of the bonsai you chose to present here, especially the Prunus and cherry. It just shows that not everything in Japanese bonsai belongs to a rigid styling school. Am also admiring the elm. No doubt the conifers are awesome in real life, but their rounded triangular apex is a bit repetitive, seen even in small shohin. I bet the exhibition was really inspiring and fabulous as always. Lucky you, for having seen it!

is that a camilia or stewetia that pink flowering plant . Love it

just noticed its a camilia . Damn some years of skill into that trunk and roots

There was plenty of inspiration and another great learning experience. The exhibition was quite diverse in the trees featured and I managed to get a photo of a tree owner proudly in front of his tree that was on display, quite a nice moment. Photography was difficult because of the number of people and the lighting made it difficult, but I am still happy.
A summer holiday is always a bit dicey as I needed to rely on an automatic watering system to water the collection here, but it was worth the gamble.

I don't think it will change me too much, but it did make me really appreciate the time it take to create good bonsai.
