Hello all,

I've recently bought a couple of bonsai... one fairly small Chinese elm ( labelled as corky bark elm)
and a more mature tree which i will be attempting to bonsai in the "shorter" term lol i know that is all relative.

anyway the larger of the 2 i bought it was labelled as a ( sugar bark fig) on the googles i'm unable to find anything that lists this name.... the closest i could find is a " Tiger Bark Fig"
so i'm wanting to identify this... and if anyone has any ideas where i should start with this.... please give me all and any ideas... i find bonsai so intriguing

HAPPY BONSAI TO ALL !!!!:)

Or Retusa (Tiger Bark) maybe? I have one that looks extremely similar.

I know Microcarpa and Retusa get confused alot, that main difference is the leaves on a mature tree are generally 100mm - 200mm on a Microcarpa, whereas the Retusa has leaf lengths under 100mm. Of course bonsai makes it difficult to determine this difference as we tend to keep them small regardless.

Hi Microcarpa.
As I understand it Retusa has been reduced to being a form of F microcarpa. Difficult to be sure but it does not appear to be F "Tiger BarK". Possibly simply F microcarpa Microcarpa. Can be very confusing!!!!
