Now that is a fantastic progression series, and in such a short time.
Keep doing what you’re doing Gerard.

Your tree has exceptional structure..well done,....Now just my imagination...the October 17 photo giving the image of the species in a dry season with its textured trunk and split foliage (sparse struggling)), really like that statement it is making to me.
,... then the March 18 starting to show its exuberance, full glory from the wet season like that too.

Your tree in those two shots conveys a very typical Australian native trying to survive in in our very poor soils and very inconsistent rainfall, to try and express that is very skill-full..as said well done, you have a beautiful tree Gerard and cheers for showing.

Anthony

I must echo Anthony's words here, you've captured Australia with your tree. Congrats!

I can see Mike having a chuckle,...... when he originally suggested this branch might go (Oct 2017) I reduced it by half.

When I prune and wire this tree, I do not picture a melaleuca. Instead I will picture a large gum tree alone in an open field. I will prune hard and wire the foliage in a way that allows light to pass through the many small open spaces.

Hello. I agree with the sentiments here. The tree has a great shape to it and more fitting to the aussie native habit.

Absolutely lovely Gerard. That tree caught my attention in the other thread viewtopic.php?f=25&t=25351&start=15 , so it is great to see how it developed. Would you mind posting the height it currently stands?
Terry

Height is 86cm, or 95cm if I include the pot
