Green Callitris

Also while out touring I spotted lots of a green Callitris between Hay and Swan Hill.

is it a native??

Yes, it is a native which grows in different forms around Australia: East, West, South and Central. This one may be C endlicheri (Black Cypress Pine; black refering to bark?) or C gracilis (Murray Pine) although I think the foliage habit is wrong. Whereas the Blue Cypress Pine refers to the blue foliage.

Common names are Cypress or Cypress Pine. Lovely fine foliage.

i am positive i have a huge one in my front yard. i think up here though they call it a bribie island pine. the foliage is very similar and so is the growth. i wonder if its the same tree??

Yep, C columellaris or Bribie Island Pine.
