Bravo obligatory dog walking. Found this neat nibbles holder next to a street rubbish bin. Clean even. Took it home and tailored it and I now have a second stand for my two long tray pots. The first stand is a wooden long, slender sandwich tray upside down.

Removed feet and installed them on the original topside and roadtested with my two bonsai.

The olive actually looks better on the sandwich tray.

I've photographed it a bit off centre. There's a thin trunk 'hiding' just in front of the thicker one at the back on the connected root olive. Therefore there are 5 trunks so it's okay... the bonsai can stay. Needs a few more years to thicken a bit, particularly the back trunk that is badly wire marked.

Great score Mel. In brisbane, every year around Jun-Jul, the Brisbane city coucil has a clean up operation. every house is allowed to leave unwanted furnitures...and basically anything unwanted outside for the council rubbish collectors to pick them up. I often found great stuffs on these occasions. There's a saying: "a man's trash is another man's treasure" or something like that :)

Hey Chris, how is your twin trunk maple going? Have you got any photo of it in full folliage? It's been a while since you bought it here.

My Council does not have mass collections but you phone for a pickup and put it out the night before. Other Councils have these massed collections but I note that if the pickup day is day, they don't do it until a week later and it is surprising how much of the gear is gone. I snoop around street rubbish when dog walking but find little of value in my perambulations. But there are times....
