[NATURAL] Melaleuca Thymifolia - Keep Calm and Ramify

My 2nd entry - again more neglected nursery stock.
Much care has been taken to ever so recklessly "shove" it back into it's oversized plastic pot, after bungy jumping out? at some stage in it's nursery life.
The cane support stake still remains - but over time, felt dirty & obsolete - so it decided to split :o .

A few pics of various angles with the lawn bowls tape measure.
(For all you old people...I do not play lawn bowls..I just have the tape measure..)

Cotton Candy - Yum!

Hey Mel,
I do have bare foot lawn bowls organised as work staff xmas party this Friday - we start off on Rink 1, where our balls are skilfully rolled, finally resting top end of Rink 3!

I love these. I have a few myself, both white flowering and pink.
I was thinking of entering one in the convo but still unsure of final choices.

There is a dwarf version of the pink flowering one, which I trialled, but I don’t think they survived their first root prune.
Shibuis advice on dwarfs is usually pretty accurate, in that they aren’t very hardy.

Good luck with your entry. I hope to see this being developed and flowering with that beautiful display.

Haha I laughed out loud on the way home after reading that.
Out of curiosity what are you using the tape for?
To group the branches closer together?

Hey Rustyck - yeah just gonna use the current length of the branches to help set the inclination for a little while - then cut back hard later on.
Eventually aiming towards something like the pics below - only better! .

Looking forward to seeing how you develop your "Snow in Summer."

I think 'cotton candy' is the dwarf variant. Maybe others can chime in and offer a comment just to be sure.

If I may offer some small advice on this stock. I took a look back over the Mel thymifolias that I trialled. Cotton Candy was indeed included in the list of the ones I tried. However I didn't get any of these to survive a solid root removal.
However I was quite carefree on the first root work as I had a lot to start with, but none of them survived. (this was the compact version that didn't survive). The Mel thymifolias that I tried of the normal variant, 'white/pink lace' etc survived. If it was mine, I'd maybe do the first root work now and see if it survives before 31st January 2019.

It took on average about 3 weeks for them all before the new growth started to appear after initial rootwork to give you an idea.
