Family - Myrtacena
Common name - Honey Myrtle

Purchased Berry Nursery for about $13 each from memory.

Some fun setting up these 3, once again massive amount of root coming off (over 3/4 of roots), actually a huge over site from the size of growing pot to tray, be aware of that

Anyway our scene is set up with a rocky headland representing expose with twists and turns and the prevailing wind...

I look forward to seeing this group develop, Anthony!

I fair dinkum love this type of Bonsai/Penjing. An Aus-style Penjing landscape. Great start IMHO.

What am I going to enter in this competition?

Will make this my 30th April official image, well it survived the drastic root cut and health seems to be holding so very happy there.

It will now get a little trim with some beautiful autumn weather still holding on and hopefully a shoot or two to down low that could be very handy to me...over all happy at this stage with it ...cheers.

BTW..I notice the site is very slow again for me...I don t think its from my end, as tested else where.

Nice arid-zone image - there's a dry creek bed behind those rocks I think.

And a little lizard perhaps. It’s quite interesting I reckon. Even young trees and a rough setting can stimulate one’s mind to imagine a possible landscape and what may inhabit the space. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Cheers Gavin appreciate that,... wow... you just new I had something around back and you are exactly right for there is anticipation i could use it as my front, indeed I have a dry river bed/water course (with imagination of finer gravel at the ends of many creeks, how high it starts and falls to/or continually runs is up to the viewers imagination ), but I do need those shoots or I have to manipulate something from that area for the trees to work,...thankyou

Maybe need to slightly lower the bed if this is the chosen side and where I need some shoots
this is very near me and when heavy rain comes this where it will peel off, some of my inspiration here

Great season of growth Anthony, trees are looking great. I cant see them slowing down that much. Beautiful bush in the photo ,was up there not so long ago and saw a few Coastal Tee Trees covered with Myrtle Rust. Not a pretty sight.

Hi Guys..well our trees are very keen indeed, so our next steps taken was to cut back our tops to promote lower growth and balance,,,,,and get some good width across the park so happy there with some needed shoots and depth.

The right hand trunk was a bit too keen, so was manipulated to the original front to keep it in the picture as such and was nailed to slow it down and to add depth and more character if I go to that side.

The heads and silohette are my next aim now, so I will attempt to break them up into different portions/areas....as Mel said to try not to topiary-rise the head, so I will have to be careful with that

So far happy with it and know main front yet, the tray is not the best but will do for now ...cheers

Hi Guys... our little trees did put on a little weight from the last image, then the winter cold and brutal westerly winds held it back as expected, now just starting to come out of its sleep and some nice colour as the name suggests, little clean out underneath has just been done, we will now let it kick on for now, then have another look at the silhouette...still know definite front at this stage.... happy with it at this stage...cheers
