Re: Bottlebrush windswept - Another photo journey
Looks like a decent show is brewing in those buds!
That “pot” is out there too… I like a bit of different, and I think the tree looks pretty good in it.
Nice work, as Watto said, look forward to some pics in a few weeks.

Re: Bottlebrush windswept - Another photo journey
cheers Melb, Watto & R3. Will post up a pic when in bloom.
What do you (& others) think of this?
An Aussie native would really suit this type of container
I've wanted to experiment with a different type of container since seeing the below image a few years back by Ferrand Bloch.

That's a very harmonious composition, KCAR, love it! I think your tree could look fabulous in that sort of setting.I've wanted to experiment with a different type of container since seeing the below image a few years back by Ferrand Bloch.

Something out of the box/left of centre that looks to be applied with a lot of thought.
It’s a fresh looking composition I think.
I don’t think it would work with every tree but I like the drama in both the tree and container playing off against each other, and I think the scale of both is good. I’m thinking there is a fine line getting this right, it would be easy for the pot to overwhelm the tree with lesser material, and for the most part I’m all about the tree.
Thanks for sharing, it’s good to see new approaches.

Ditto to what Mel said, BUT I want to see it in the bark. When are you Newcastrians putting on an exhibition so I can make a trip (you remember a trip - where you get in the car and go somewhere, anywhere)?

Ahh.. the car trip. I remember those. Although i'm not a member, the Newcastle Bonsai Society club has cancelled it's exhibition which normally would be held in November.

There is also a tad of jealously as my bottlebrush have only started to form their buds.
