[ID] please, possible leptospermum

Hi everyone,

Can someone please confirm if this is a leptospermum? I picked it up because it was pretty when shopping for the native competition this morning, but completely forgot to pay any attention to what it actually was as in my mind I already had the plants I went there for. From the leaf shape and bark, it looks like a lepto to me, but I have not seen one with this red colouring on the leaves before.

Anyone have any idea? Thanks for looking!

Hi Beano,

The reddish new growth looks great. I am not an expert and had not seen that colour in the wild before but this site suggests it may be a Lepto ... common name either Copper Glow or Copper Sheen?

See link here http://anpsa.org.au/APOL11/sep98-3.html

Others with more experience may be able to provide better guidance.

I have a couple of Leptospermum lanigerum (Wolly Tee Treas) and they also have red color in new growth.
