first of is the first tree a bonsai? or just something from the park or street?
it looks a bit like hoop pine foliage, aruacaria cunninghamii.

go to that link and tell me if the tree you took the cutting from has foliage that looks like that.
on hoop pine the foliage is very coarse and pointy when matured but while young it is soft until it hardens.
the second... looks like some sort of pine (pinus species though) aswell, but if that was the tree you took the cutting from...i would of dug the whole tree

with permission of course

they are both in my garden so i have permission, and it is dying or just not growing where it is.
the first one is a tree, about 2.5 metres tall, i have taken a 10 cm cutting from it and planted it.
i don't think the first one is hoop pine, the tree only has one main branch, straight up, the only other branches all come out at around 90 degrees to the trunk.
the trunk is a dark brownish red colour, the leaves are spiny,
it may be a hoop pine but i am not sure
