[Natural] Callistemon Linearis - Greg (gnichols)

I wasnt going to enter this tree because it had a very low side branch that took the width to just over 1cm. But my other entry got smashed in the recent hot weather and I'm not sure if it will survive. So I trimmed the bottom side branch.
This was another native gifted to me. The different photos show originally with the side branch at the soil level and then removed.

So with the side branch I threw some hormone powder on it. I'm not sure it will survive. Also not sure if I should create a new thread for it or just include here, maybe just for interests sake.

The cutting didn't survive but the original is growing well. I haven't done anything with it except feed and water. Has a nice brown/orange colouring on some of the tips, so I might take another photo at the end of the month if it develops further.

I'm throwing myself at the mercy of the judges on this one. Without Tapatalk I wasn't able to update this one in October. If allowed I'd like to re-join this comp?
Just been feeding regularly. The wired branches are the basic structure I was thinking about and the rest as sacrifice branches - including the really low shoots that have come out. But always happy for views from the more experienced members.

April update. I hacked this one back just a little. This is more an opportunity for me to learn about our Aussie natives so why not <shrugs>. I checked the roots and they are looking really good, nice and feathery but unfortunately I didn't have any bonsai mix to do any root work. The lignotuber has grown a lot.

Haven't played in almost 20 years. Golf is just a good way to ruin a nice walk.

Ha! indeed, albeit I had a reasonable hit today so the walk was not too bad.

Many a walk get's ruined though!
