Hello everyone,

I just signed up, respect that you hear from people like me all the time. Please help tho, I love the beauty of nature. I have an unidentified plant, given as a Christmas present (what a surprise), because the giftee knows that ive always wanted to start bonsai and continue it long term. I already have a basic tool kit and some fertiliser from previous attempt. This is my first time joining a group because i want to begin learning properly (more than a book) and i recognise i need guidance, and, that my current plant is dieing again, if not already gone :).

according to the guidelines please see table below, and additional photos. I attempted to classify according to categories, but some i cannot seem to see the difference, some might be wrong because the plant is not healthy.

Please help with ID. I will also post in another blog, need help, wish a plant to live well rather than../

Hi fozgregos,
Welcome to bonsai and to Ausbonsai.
Loading photos stumps many new members. Files need to be under 1mb (I think) so you may need to resize for the files to upload. Try not to reduce the size so we can get a good look at the pics, just reduce quality a little to bring the file size down to acceptable.
There is an upload attachment button at the bottom of your post reply window (along with options)
There's a tutorial to help here - viewtopic.php?f=97&t=54

We'll see if we can ID your tree when we can see it.

There are 2 bonsai clubs in Brisbane:
1)
The Bimer Bonsai Society
http://bimerbonsai.org.au/
2)
The Bonsai Society of Queensland
with its convention coming up: Horizons II
http://www.bonsaisocietyqld.asn.au

If you are serious: you want help and lots of fun, attend a few meetings of these really good clubs.

Below is a simplified list of the steps to take to post your photos:

Scroll down to Options/Upload attachment (on the left of the page)
Click on Upload attachment
You will see Browse/No file selected/Add File
Click on No file selected.
The list of folders on your computer will appear.
Choose the folder that holds your photos, open it and choose the photo you want to post. Click on it and press Open.
The name of the photo will appear instead of No file selected.
Click on Add File
And that’s it.
Repeat for further photos.

KEEP GOING!

Lisa
