I'd say Corymbia ficifolia or one of its many newer hybrids. Also known as flowering gum and originally comes from W.A. but has been planted all over for the masses of large flowers.
Corymbia calophylla (Marri) also has large fruits but usually slightly different shape.
The 2 species have been used in breeding programs for the last 20-30 years to get trees with different coloured flowers and flowering at different times of the year
Both grow very easily from seed but if this one is a hybrid the seedlings may vary a bit and resemble either of the parents or something in between. Those gumnuts are not yet fully mature but would probably already have viable seed if you wanted to grow some.

Yes grafted to make sure the variety is always the same but grafted plants will still grow from seed. Some grafted plants will grow true from seed but others, especially hybrids, may show various degrees of variation when grown from seed. Basic genetics.

Well I'll throw some seed in and see what comes up. Be like a lucky dip. The tree that was next to it had beautiful red flowers on it that looked to be same species. Thanks again for your help
