Found this progression series a while back on another interwebs location.
Unfortunately, it's not mine..... but I found it inspiring. Don't know the timeframe either.
Thought I'd share.

That is incredible and beautiful; majestic. The vision to see this at the start is incredible. Amazing and as you say, inspiring.

Oh the irony of my ‘fat trunks’ thread! Pleasing proportions on this trunk! Thanks for sharing.

beautiful and with lot more foresight in design than I possess -- In the first picture it also looks to have had possibly a couple years ground work and prep for the initial lift--It would also be interesting to know the size of the final pot.

That is impressive! I would guess at 15 - 20 years, depending on climate

Very nice. What species is the tree?

Excellent progression. Thankyou for posting.
Would be interesting to know the time frame. 20yrs sounds like a good estimate.
Pot size must be about 100cm as the concrete blocks are 40cm long [from grow bed picture]

That was my thought too...imagine having choices in container glazes, shapes, and sizes in that length! The mind boggles!

Going on the size of the people in prog17, I'd guess that the tree is at least 1.5 metres tall, and close to 3 metres wide. So the pot would be closer to 2 metres wide than 1, again purely guessing. These are intensely organised farms making large and very expensive status symbols for extremely rich people.

I thought the branch shapes were very interesting indeed, and harmonised well with the trunk early on, but the ramification in the later stages detracts from the lines of the branches. In this case perhaps a smaller tree might have had a more concentrated artistic impact. We certainly have a lot to learn about branch shaping.
