A Couple of Mels

Considering that I've only been into bonsai for going on three years now most of what I have is very early in the development stage, especially my natives. I've had little luck here finding Mels of a mature age and I curse my local bonsai nurserys for not pushing the natives a lot more than they do, but oh well... :)

I'm still relatively young though, so I can afford to start young, which I have. I have a few in the ground but here are some I'm styling in pots pre-ground or shohin size:

I know these photos show them all leaning the same way but as you see the younger ones isn't necessarily how they'll end up.

The last 'lin' is nice stock. The others are too young for me or I'm too old for them. I just feel that 'keep looking' until you find something with a few years on it and then you can have ongoing fun rather than waiting for nature to kick in. But again, someone has to buy 'em young...
