Hi everyone,

I thought I'd share the progression of one of my first Black Pines. The Pine bug has bitten me rather hard and several more have found their way into my care since!

As I got it:

Before removing needles, branch selection and wiring:

After removing needles, branch selection and wiring:

I'm pretty happy with how this one is going although the first branch just isn't looking right to me at the moment. I think getting more movement into it may help but I'm also considering removing the branch and focusing on more of a literati style. Any input or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Fraser

I think the lowest branch looks not quite right because the apex sits directly above the base of the trunk. Maybe try leaning the tree to the right or left and see if that changes the look of it. Just a thought

Thanks for the suggestion mate. I'm thinking tilting it to the left and continuing to bring the apex down will fix it up
