Slowly, slowly...

You have come a long way with this one, I am sure it has been very satisfying. Difficult material has developed into a very interesting tree.

Yes, I particularly like the lower planting (or perhaps the trunk has just thickened over 12 years?) but the way the left trunk now touches the ground, provides a more solid looking foundation. Well done.

And it’s good to see a new visitor admiring the tree too.

Thanks Gezz for tuning in and the kind words! I purchased this tree in 2005 when I first began Bonsai. Using a beginners how to bonsai book as reference. The material wasn't the problem. The problem was me! Like many beginners I ripped into it and cut too much off the tree and consequently created difficult material. With some compression, change of planting angle and more years of growth ( my growth as well as the trees ) and ramification the tree is now maturing into an interesting tree no doubt.
