Hi everyone,
I have this big beautiful tree in my front yard. I was wondering what type it is. I think it might be interesting to try and grow a few trees for bonsai use. So just chasing what type it is. Any help identifying it is appreciated.

I'll have a guess at chamaecypris.

I thought chamaecyparis has flat foliage pads.
My guess would be one of the Cupressus - cypress family but I have never bothered to work out how to tell the differences between genera let alone species.

I'm going to retract my guess and go with Cupressus too.

Yep it some kind of Cupressus, but without sitting down with a genus key and looking at the shape of the fruit (seed) and some very specific features of the foliage, it will be hard to say exactly which one it is

I agree with Shibui. Possibly Cupressus glabra, Arizona Cyprus.
