Pine ID

Sometime ago I bought a $5 starter.

It was marked as a “Japanese white pine”.

I’m not sure if it is.

It’s not grafted.

I successfully grafted it to a black pine.

Maybe it was a black pine to begin with?

Anyone hazard a guess?ImageImageImageImage

Scots was my guess.

The needles are firm to the touch.

The needles have always been a lighter green too.

Scots for me too, buds and needle colour/length are what makes me lean that way. Definitely not JWP... it’s not a 5 needle pine.
Nice job on the grafting! That’s a skill worth mastering no matter what it is you’re putting together.
