Good afternoon,

I'm planning a trip back to Japan again next year, and there are several places i'm planning to go that i haven't been before. Since it's a quick connection off the train line i'll be using, i was thinking to stop by in Tokoname for a couple of nights and do the pottery walk and perhaps hunt down a few of the bonsai pottery kilns to visit.

Specifically i would be keen to visit Koyo for i have an affinity for their pots (especially Kouichirou Aiba's though i understand he has handed the kiln on now), but cannot find any address or even a broad approximation of location. I'd definitely do the pottery walk, but it would be nice to know what is around beforehand so i don't go wandering past something i would love to see.

Perfect, that's the path i intend to walk along! I really do hope i can find the Koyo kiln, i have seen the footage of the store so i know what shopfront to look for!

Hi mate,
You won't find any of the Tokoname bonsai potters on the Tokoname pottery trail.
They are a little out of the way from the tourist trail.

For sure the trail is worth seeing.
It is both fascinating and quite beautiful.
But it is only one part of what exists in the town.

I think this time my budget won’t allow it, but Korea is a beautiful country, I was there in 2012 I think it was and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d love to come see what Korean bonsai is about; another time though.
