Thought I would make a thread for anybody who attended the workshops over the weekend to post up their trees (if they want to)
I attended the Sunday masterclass with Ryan Neil and worked on 2 trees, a pine and a swamp cypress
Here is the before and after of each tree

Great thread.
Great workshop achievements! You had good material and Ryan got the best out of it.
The kind of day one remembers forever.

It definitely was a great weekend. I’m still away from home and will post the results of my work once I’m home. Good to meet you Kerrin and Ryan. And a huge thank you to Leigh, Sam and everyone else involved in the organising and running of the weekend

It was a great weekend. I did the Masterclass with Ryan on Friday. I'm pretty happy with the result. We improved on a few points for the tree and I learnt some things I didn't know.

Here's a shot of my Kobayashi JBP from my other thread after I gave it a repot today... the black plastic pot was just waaayyy too big, and the work that was performed at the workshop wasn't too scary in terms of foliage/branch reduction/stressful bends etc so I figured a repot would be fine. Would love to see what others did if they get a chance to post!

Funny you should mention it Kez, took a couple of photos of the pines I worked on over that weekend yesterday, fond memories!
Here they are ... managed to decandle both in Dec so they have had no work carried out since then. I'd say the new growth has all but hardened off now so I'll be looking to reduce shoots/clean up etc. in the near future - maybe a couple of weeks.
Hope you are well Kez, your trees are looking great!

These progressions are great to see - thanks for the continued updates. Very envious and how cool to post "Kobayashi' and "Ryan Neil" pines; Ryan's Ryan pine - confused yet. And Kerrin that Swampy's a gem in the making. That low, long branch hanging to the right ... in the direction of tree's angle... is going to make it magic.

Looking good!
The pine has really filled out nicely. From the original ‘after’ pic, I was thinking that it came out looking like a younger skinny teenager. But, with a bit of foliage weight and presumably a little thickening of the trunk, it is looking great. I guess that’s the benefit of trained eyes, they can see how a tree will look in a season or ten.
The swampy is special. Those corkscrew trunks can be a bit hit and miss, but it looks completely natural (not ‘completely’ natural, but not contrived, you know what I mean) and super interesting on yours. Also great to see a completely different approach to the species.
