My different tridents are all at different stages, the one above is already dropping leaves, another is halfway though colouring up, my small group to be used in the forest comp is putting on a virant show, the bigger group for the forest comp hasn't budged yet, and these ones below which are cuttings taken from the big group are getting their colour now. Should make for an insteresting display this time next year when the forest has been put together if they are all changing at different times.

Re: Autumn 2020
Nothing for bonsai display, but just a bit of colour. Unfortunately this has been receiving no direct sunlight and protected from frost for the last season. Luckily it's a Persian Ironwood, so even in inner city Melbourne it can get some colour. I just moved it to a sunnier spot to see if it can get some real colour.
Cheers,
Pearcy.

Hardly counts as autumn colour but something’s changing with the Swampy.

Mate you'll get so much enjoyment out of the Autumnal show of swamp cypress, they really are a treat when they get into their autumn colour stride.

Re: Autumn 2020
Very late colour in a JM, because I defoliated it (mostly) in February, to get rid of the summer tat. Also because it lives on a concrete patio, which acts as a heat sink, I think.

Re: Autumn 2020
I haven't really been around much over the last couple of months, my focus has been redirected, so only logging in to pick up messages essentially ... as the saying goes there has been "more important s#!t to shovel".
In any case, I noticed today my tiny chinese elm had turned into it's autumn coat, which doesn't happen every year so it motivated me to take a pic that I thought I may as well stick up... you gotta appreciate the small stuff sometimes.

Re: Autumn 2020
I’m really late to this party but after last week’s cold snap this little Chinese Elm put on rare display of colour.
And that’s Autumn for me. It’s freezing outside today, a proper Winters day.
Matt.
