Hey All,
Does anyone know where one can purchase Brazillian rain trees? Preferably a few years old but I can't find anything online so at this point I'd take seedlings.
I'm based in Sydney but would be happy to pay for shipping.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

They're considered an invasive species I think. So I dont think a nursery will grow or sell seed. There is heaps of them here in the brisbane city on the sidewalk for shade. It may be the same in Sydney. I dont know how easy it is to collect seed from them but maybe thats an option?

You could try Calliandra instead.

They are grown as street trees in some suburbs here on the Gold Coast. If you see a large one in your area have a look around under the tree, they often have self sown seedlings growing nearby. I have a couple of small ones that I dug out of some mulch the council put down around some bushes in a roadside plantation.

I know them as Leopard tree, so it may be a slightly different species to the Brazilian Raintree, although they look very similar.
Cheers, Frank.
